Armor of God

Lord, I pray for the Spiritual Armor over myself, my wife, my family, as well as, my brothers and sisters in Christ.

I pray for that Helmet of Salvation. Guard our minds, guard our thoughts. Be careful what we let in and even more careful we let out which defiles us. Help us march in unity with you as to what you want us to do, signified by that insignia on the forehead of the helmet. Help me think your thoughts. Help me know your voice. Please destroy the thoughts that are off base. Please destroy the lethargy. Please destroy everything Lord that is not in your will.

I pray for that Breastplate of Righteousness. Protect our physical, mental, spiritual and emotional vital organs.  I pray that we’d wear it and never take it off, and that we’d stand firm even in the face of the enemy, wearing the breastplate of righteousness.

I ask for the Belt of Truth. Help us gird it around our waist. Help us view everything through the truth of your belt, Father.  I pray that we would frame everything in life through the view of your belt of truth.  I pray all this in the matchless name of Jesus Christ, my Savior!!

I also pray for the Shoes of the Gospel (The Sandals of Peace). Help us walk in peace and faith. Help us share faith. Help us have an apt word for those that are looking for answers. Please bring me someone to share with today!  Allow me to discern whether you are working in their heart and preparing them to accept the gospel.

Father, I pray for the Shield of Faith. The chin to toe shield with the strap for the forearm and handle for the hand. The boss on the front. Definitely an offensive and a defensive weapon that I never let go of. I never set it down.

Father, I pray for the Sword of the Spirit. The actual Word of God. The only physical representation of any of the pieces of the armor. Help me study it, help me know it, Help me spar with it. Help me to teach it and help me to live it.

I would be remiss if I didn’t ask for your Filling of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ even said that it was good that He goes away, because if he doesn’t go away, the Holy Spirit will not come. But Jesus did send the Holy Spirit to fill us and empower us.

I pray for the Spirit to lead, guide, direct, and empower everything I do with this life. I feel totally inadequate to live this life as you desire. So I ask your help and your wisdom and your guidance, Holy Spirit. You know everything. You know it all. Help me to move forward and rely on you alone.
